I think it's safe to say that we were all quite reluctant to get out of bed this morning, especially after having a taste of freedom yesterday! It's now been more than two weeks since I first left Aberdeen, and in all honesty, there have been times where I wish I could be back in my flat again - usually when I'm vigorously panting up a hill!
We were rudely awakened by a steep climb up Sheriffmuir to Crieff, where we stopped for an early brunch. Topped the tummy up with a salmon, rocket and cream cheese sandwich, while at the same time admiring Jonathan's monster of a pancake.
Some more climbing afterwards (surprise, surprise), and finally a long descent to Aberfeldy for another lunch. Jack calls this an eating holiday with a bit of cycling - I'm inclined to agree sometimes..!
We then continued along the Perthshire Tourist Route, a scenic alternative to the main A9, skirting the River Tay - very beautiful. The later portion of the afternoon consisted of enjoyable, gentle rolling hills that were more conducive to enjoying the atmosphere around us.. whew!
It wasn't long until we arrived at our destination for the day, the wee town of Pitlochry.
